Rich Brian, born Brian Imanuel Soewarno in 1999, is an Indonesian rapper and singer who gained significant attention with his breakout single "Dat $tick," released in March 2016. The track went viral, showcasing his distinctive style that blends pop rap and trap elements, and it later earned a gold certification from the RIAA. His debut studio album, Amen, dropped in 2018 and peaked at number 18 on the US Billboard 200, marking a significant milestone as he became the second Southeast Asian artist to reach the top 20 on this chart. Following that, he released The Sailor in 2019 and the EP 1999 in 2020, showcasing his growth as an artist. In January 2022, he released another EP titled Brightside and has collaborated with notable artists such as Chungha, Keith Ape, and Jackson Wang.
