About the Artist

Wesley Eisold spent his early career screaming in hardcore bands—American Nightmare (also known as Give Up the Ghost), Some Girls—before pivoting to something darker and more electronic. Cold Cave, which he started in 2007, is darkwave synth-pop that draws on Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode, and the kind of goth-club aesthetics that feel genuinely earned rather than costumed. He's toured with Nine Inch Nails (filling in when Death Grips split), Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, and the Jesus and Mary Chain.

The music ranges from desperate to hopeful, harsh to romantic, often within a single song. His 2011 album Cherish the Light Years went big and anthemic; his more recent EPs (You & Me & Infinity, Fate in Seven Lessons) strip things back. Live, the band delivers strobe-lit catharsis—Eisold's baritone anchoring everything while the synths pulse and the drum machines drive. This tour features Buzz Kull and Rosa Anschütz, both on Eisold's own Heartworm Press label. The Chapel's intimate setting is perfect for this kind of show. Dark, close, loud enough to feel it in your chest. Sunday night for people who aren't ready for the weekend to end.
